A gathering of sculptures ran down the centre of the Kerlin Gallery floor.

The title of the show came from a photograph of a view of a Red Sunset over the ocean on the west coast of Ireland. A window in the gallery, normally hidden, was exposed, providing a large square of white light. A stranded Door with fungal growth stood at one end of the space. At the other end a shark-skin lined with white-gold perched on top of an easel which held a square of translucent white alabaster. A stack of sheets of paper with the peak of mount Everest emerging from the surface met a Telescope focussing into the interior of a skull holding a meteorite. A work called Distil presenting a large bell-jar of ‘fermenting’ elements including a judge’s wig, led to a young boy’s hand cast in silver from which a piece of vitrified lightening, a Fulgurite, emerged. The walls held photographs of an empty schoolroom, a derelict mattress, a shifting cathedral and a cliff face. View was a show of ideas about energy.
